Trailer Research

As part of my resarch I have look at similar trailers in genre in some details and looked at aspects that could be used in our groups final product.

The following shots are from 4,3,2,1:

Establishing shots are used in films and trailers no matter the genre. This helps the audience to understand the setting of what they are watching. It can also set a mood. For example this picture is showing a city at night, to me suggesting the film may be about people who live in this sort of area showing the scene at night gives the impression that there is something to be uncovered.

This print screen shows four girls each in separate settings, showing this at the same time gives across the idea that they are connected in some way; the reason why will be revealed in the film. This can be applied to my trailer as there are two different group of girls but by a series of confrontations between individuals and one major event brings these groups together.

  1. The use of multiple frame is a very interesting idea. Before you try something like this out though try to do the basics correctly. Some simple framing and shots in a transition of images first . Get that then try the fancy stuff.
